Yesterday, young men disrupted a family-friendly event at Hamilton Libraries featuring a visiting cartoonist. They yelled obscenities and assaulted a small child. They then provided videos and photos to the person running Action Zealandia's Telegram account. 🧵

"He appeared at two protests involving far-right activists and was linked to accounts expressing support for the National Socialist Network (NSN), an Australian neo-Nazi organisation that later rebranded as White Australia."

"Nicholas Newport, 23, was named as a member of the executive of Young New Zealand First in late 2024, and last month spoke at the party’s national convention."

"The accounts repeatedly posted “Hail Hitler”, used slurs against non-white and gay people and made derogatory comments about women. One invoked a claim commonly circulated by Holocaust deniers. Another described its user as a Nazi."

Nicholas Wells/Newport was aked in the "White Australia First" Telegram channel "Are you in AZ". He responded "Good question I don't actually know lol. I train with the the local guys but I'm not sure if I am in or not"

Winston Peters described him as a “member of the public” the party had no responsibility for. He is in fact an executive committee member of Young NZF (at least he was described as such in 2024) and spoke on behalf of the group at the party convention last month.

Nicholas Wells' / Nicholas Newport's X/Twitter account often simply alternated between re-tweets praising Adolf Hitler and Shane Jones.
