My personal opinion is that it’s bad for us all that it’s so difficult to both use social media and also avoid involuntarily seeing videos of people dying.

Great meeting with the Jo Daviess County Farm Bureau. We need to take on consolidation, lower input costs, secure Right to Repair, and ensure farmers get a fair price. Rural communities shouldn’t pay the price for reckless trade and foreign policy made by people disconnected from the consequences.
So…they pretended that the problems on the USS Abraham Lincoln were “fake news” to hide the reason for the problems. Because…heaven forbid we know what’s REALLY going on in the War-Without-A-Purpose, especially when we’re suffering because of it.

I didn’t come anywhere near this when I was on the Roosevelt (‘87-‘90) - I think we hit like 85 straight days at sea. But even that was miserable. This is an abuse of the force and will have long term repercussions

This is the bare truth. Every second of this. This idea needs to break through to the mainstream, and I'm not sure it will; propaganda is extremely difficult to be heard over. But if it did, well, that would be a very good thing.

But this is a very, very, very trenchant piece of commentary that captures a lot of how I increasingly understand the disjunction between the commentary environment and on-the-ground politics.
He is announcing that he is not the president of the entire United States. Just the states that like him. Beyond abnormal.

No. Approval rates of federal disaster aid requests were about the same regardless of the state and did not vary much with the party of the President. This graph powerfully conveys the scale of the partisan discrimination now.
