'There Will Come Soft Rains' tells of the final day of an automated house carrying on the routines for long dead tenants, in a short story within Ray Bradbury's 'The Martian Chronicles'. The date mentioned in the cheerful morning announcement by the house robotic voice is today, August 4, 2026.

The twenty-year-old pretty-good route building game Thurn & Taxis is oddly getting two remakes this year? I mean, any presentation is more audience-grabbing than "the 19th century Bavarian postal system, now in ultra-beige", but I'm surprised it kept enough attention after all these years.

I forgot to bring something for the company potluck and it's nontrivial to buy pick up something quickly before the event. Even though no one would question me, I'm still avoiding the event out of extreme introversion, with a built-in semi-legitimate excuse.

Jet Lag has been a big hit with me and my wife lately. I held off on trying it for a while, thinking it wouldn't be for me, and I'm so glad I gave it a shot. I've watched Connect 4, Battle 4 America, Tag Eur It 1&2, Arctic Escape, and most of the NZ season so far. And I will never not root for Ben

I played a little bit of Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era this weekend, and it was enjoyable! The Heroes III influence is VERY heavy, which is to be expected, but with some more modern QoL. Interested to play more! I played 3-5 all quite heavily, and enjoyed them all a ton, in their times.

The best thing about "Holding Out For A Hero" is that it goes up to 100% almost instantly, and it stays there. The production never gives up, it's full shout, full drum fill, full piano whack, full everything, all the way through.

My only annoyance with Horizon Zero Dawn is a minor gripe - NPCs yelling out for help etc. are super loud and relentless. Just walk around with a green exclamation point and retain some dignity.

In search of an open-world RPG to play with my wife, we just started some Horizon Zero Dawn last night. Getting to upgrade our gathering capabilities early and having loads of harvestable plants helped solidify that we made the right choice.
