Frames of mind. Somewhere in between days & dreams, light & shadow, awe & wonder. Weather-sensitive. Pedestrian.

In dreams I felt something furry at the bottom of my wardrobe. Stripping it off a caterpillar emerged and a swarm of flies flew up. I realized that the meadow on the wall was a dried out wasteland. The entire decoration, brainchild of my late partner, was past remedy. [His day of death is imminent.]

Cloudy, muggy and sticky, a few raindrops here and there, then the scent of petrichor – the next heatwave lingering on the threshold. But hey, come on, it’s summer. Hello?

Early morning tour to escape the heat of the day. The park dust-dry but neatly trimmed. No more stinging nettles to bring back painful memories. The stream soon nothing more than a miserable trickle. Wheelchair users & carers rejoicing ducks. Guelder roses starting to bloom in well-groomed gardens.

Enter the chilly no-man's land of about Five o'clock in the morning, the no-color void Where the waking head rubbishes out the draggled lot Of sulfurous dreamscapes and obscure lunar conundrums Which seemed, when dreamed, to mean so profoundly much, ... from "The Ghost's Leavetaking" by Sylvia Plath

[day moon] Like a fingernail or a paper lantern. A nocturnal visitor astray in daytime. A cherry-blossom petal before the season. Light inside light. -Philippe Jaccottet (tr. Tess Lewis)

Love the cool air which allows you to enjoy the warmth of the sun filtering through the leaves. By the wayside the beloved chicory, guardian of your path. Also, the usual rehab sport groups, men heartily biting into buns, women on mechanical bikes. The latter almost build a conspirational community

On the radio today a woman who, after working as a dairymaid, never again wants to count down the days to the next holiday when you can finally really recover & a reporter announcing the loss of time in light of the registered traffic jam. To consider it a time gain would be a cool move for a change

When the light of the sun dissolves almost everything and paints it anew. ☀️🪑 "I said: Pain and sorrow. (God) said: Stay with it. The wound is the place where the Light enters you." Dschalāl ad-Dīn ar-Rūmī

Thank goodness it is Friday. Time to wash the same load of laundry for the third time. Heavenly trumpets aka granny-pop-out-of-bed ~💮~ were twining by the babbling brook today and, yes, I am a Nana now, too. My daughter gave birth to a healthy child this week. Tell me, where have all the years gone.
