#rpg question: In setting, is there a term that is used to refer to the PCs and their role in society in your setting? Would a barkeep wave them closer, calling out "Adventurers, may I bent your ear with a tale of woe?" Sellswords? Slayers? Non-Fantasy terms also appreciated.

Ummm. Why are people whom I am not following popping up in my following tab?
Brent here. If you haven't already you'll notice that I've switched over from the term Indie to creator-published or creator-publishers when talking about the games The Hearth Magazine covers. Thinking about changes in the space over the last 25 years, and I personally don't feel the term Indie...
As I work on a Daggerheart Fanatsy Western setting for an upcoming campaign, I really need to work on restraining the impulse to overdevelop the setting beyond what will be player facing. It's a fight I will mostly lose I expect.
I’m old and as a result, when I see a beautiful set of dice I am immediately disappointed when I discover they have elected to use an alternate shape to the pyramid for the d4. I just can’t.
In the near future, Great White Sharks have been hunted to near extinction. When the last mating pair in all the ocean is targeted by degenerate billionaires seeking forbidden thrills, only one man can step up and protect them. Jason Statham.
let's pretend: Universal announces a screenwriting contest for Jaws 5. What's your pitch?
If my considering picking up Vampire 5e is what triggered 6e being announced, I duly apologize.
Ran Daggerheart solo game for my wife once again tonight. Still some balance to work out when running for just one PC but had a great time.
In regards DnD/Star Wars colab: For those newer to the hobby, please don't ever get too attached to any licensed adaptation of an IP you love. The nature of the medium and licensing agreements will always give such games a lifespan. Passing 10yrs of support for any 1 given system is a blessing
I am in part jealous seeing all the pics from Gen Con. I haven't made it in some time, and honestly, its only going to get more out of reach due to the expense. But I am so happy to see all the joy and creativity of this golden age of RPGs we are in right now. Game On.

I mean, probably have died at 14 by being kicked in the chest by a pit pony.
Enough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?
"We can't fix everything so why fix anything?" Agreed. Fuck that.
99% of the time, when someone accuses you of selective outrage, it’s a way of politically demobilizing you and shutting you up “Why are you angry about data centers instead of fast fashion” isn’t about making you care about fast fashion. It’s about shutting you up about data centers And visa versa
I'm now imagining a sanctified conveyor belt that moves the marines through a car wash while they have a choir chanting as they apply the suds and water post-battle. #Warhammer40K
On Gods in RPGs: Unless the PCs are Gods themselves, avoid making Gods characters. Make them forces. Make them inscrutable. Obscure them behind their servants and mouthpieces. Too many settings and APs just treat the divine as so mundane and understandable. It's just so overdone. Get weird with em.
In any game I run, it is inevitable that my wife will adopt some lil guy.
A fun one today, have you or any of your parties ever had a group mascot? An npc or pet critter that yall got attatched to and just had to have come along with you to the point that the party revolved around them? #TTRPGQuestion #ttrpg
Arch, as it is short for "Archie Mage."
Do you pronounce archmage "ark" mage or "arch" mage?
Not for nothing, but Sunshine (2007) has one of the most metal fucking endings in film period.
