1/ More than 99% of CUPE cabin crew workers at WestJet voted in favour of a strike mandate. We've seen what Mark Carney does when workers legally exercise their rights. The Liberals have used Section 107 multiple times to stamp out worker power, forcing them back to work without a fair contract.

Today, my colleague @leahgazan.bsky.social and I wrote a letter calling on the Minister of Jobs, @pattyhajdu.bsky.social, to refrain from violating WestJet workers’ right to strike.

I’m not following the whole thing because it’s awful. As a doctor, I’m grateful for the health leadership of Dr. Fauci. As a Canadian, I’m grateful that he provided this leadership to the world, including Canada. This is a travesty. Shame on them. History will judge them to fools.

The rich have ALWAYS argued that they deserve more influence in the public sphere because they are rich (it is the basis of our entire political system!). Without strong organizations defending working people--unions and left parties--this type of rhetoric reinforces authoritarianism.

In order to become a better runner, I joined a cross-fit gym to gain muscle strengthen. And while I really like it, now instead of a few things being sore, everything is sore. Is that improvement? I'm going with yes.
