Just got back from sea swimming. Just wonderful, birds flying over me. While it was raining, if I waited for good weather in #Derry, I probably wouldn’t swim outside much. #BenoneBeach

#BBC4Today being the Reform mouthpiece again. Just simply horrific 🤢 That this damaging party that peddles hate of the other (with so few MPs) gets such preferential (and free) non-critical coverage is hugely concerning.
The BBC Reform propaganda story is rightly taking some flack. Don’t forget who is embedded in ‘our’ national broadcaster. What has the BBC done for me….its become a biased, uncritical Reform platform
What a grubby little media morality play this has all been. My thoughts to his family.
Delighted that Laurence Fox lost his deposit (again) in Clacton. In addition, it was lovely to see that he came behind the candidate arguing to rejoin the EU.
Fascinating that #BBCR4Today are saying that Garage took two-thirds of the vote, without saying the turnout was well under 50% (44%) and that Count Binface took over a quarter of the vote. Not quite the huge success that the Today Programme or the fascists are claiming. A tad if a manipulation?
Discussion on #BBCR4Today on how we can best view the perseids meteor shower tonight and tomorrow. Has no one read 'The Triffids'
Just the damaging, destructive idiocy. So very dangerous. Yet, when the child mortality rises (as it will), no doubt it will be anyone’s fault but this apology for a person.
Trump: "At one year, you should have 5 separate visits for vaccines rather than getting them all in the same day. I've seen proof of where they have a vaccination thing that looks like the size of a bottle of soda and pour it into a little child's body."
I suppose it's too much to hope for that the (what looks like an awfully thin policy document) refers to Garage and Ysless and their likely end?
#BBC4Today, please remember that Kathleen Stock is not a Professor. Please stop affording her that title in the vague hope of scaffolding her somewhat confused arguments.
I’d forgotten quite how anencephalic Helen Whately is. #BBCAQ
The man that chased a charity rowing group (thinking they were migrants). The man that said that after a 'single murder' in Dunblane, guns were outlawed (16 people died). The man that negates 227K COVID-19 deaths and, the 23K excess deaths because we didn't shut down earlier. This man is a moron. 👇
I realise this is Restore Britain etc etc, but it's nonetheless pretty shocking.
"Social care is as unfair as American Healthcare". Excellent speech this morning from @andyburnham.bsky.social Good to see prevention (going upstream to see where people are falling/ being pushed in, rather than pulling them out) again appearing.
Garage complaining that he wasn't invited to the Burnham meeting to discuss social care, as both Conservatives and Lib Dems have been invited. All together now, Garage, you are not an MP, you resigned. Garage is a sad little man.
No one has seen the plans for any 'new' Social Care arrangements and the #CaseyReview hasn't yet reported. Yet, apparently the Conservatives and Reform are already against these 👇 This is why, despite Sutherland, Wanless and Dilnott Reviews across a quarter of a century; we haven't sorted things.
Tories and Reform UK tell Burnham they will fight any plan to reform adult social care involving tax rises – UK politics live
Defence secretary Wes Streeting says the country will see a prime minister that ‘runs towards big and difficult issues’

A Prime Minister that wants to build 'a preventative state'. Who understands that it's time to stop pulling people out of the river, but rather to stop them falling/ being pushed in. I'm hopeful (for the first time in a long time). #AndyBurnham @andyburnham.bsky.social
Right. I know that it's only 17.10 and, my to do list has only been minimally impacted but signing off; too bloody hot.
Perfect drying day in #Derry (and we don’t get many of these). Five loads and got to the bottom of the laundry basket. 🧺
Sir Andrew Mitchell once called police officers F****ing plebs and that they ‘Best learn their f***ing place’. See that he hasn’t changed at all in the last 14 years. Clearly demonstrating what an overbearing, entitled person he is. #BBCAQ
Just fabulous 👇
OpenSAFELY opened for non-COVID work in February. We got 100 applications in two months. We hope we can open to applications in England again very soon! We're also building OpenSAFELY tools in other countries. If you want our help, we are team@opensafely.org www.bennett.ox.ac.uk/blog/2026/02...
What a complete odious, venal toad Lowe is. 'A murder in Dunblane'. Sixteen children and one teacher were murdered and, 15 others were injured. What a complete and utter cnut.
Lowe and Farage. Two peas in a pod. Both backed by Musk. Both want to scrap the ban on handguns. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
In this remarkable image of white supremicists on a subway train in Washington I see cowards afraid to show their faces and a strong woman who shouldn't have to put up with this shit. (Photo: Cheney Orr - Reuters)
So fed up with getting lost. Own fault. When you move jobs and move across the Irish Sea, I should expect peregrination to be is the default. Even so, very frustrating when you can’t find the opticians.
