We integrate socio-spiritual discernment, creative political action, and experimental education to nurture liberative movements in an oppressive society
Our children deserve better than the injustice of the Supreme Court.
On this day in 2018, as part of that year’s MN Poor People’s Campaign, @propheticimage.bsky.social held an action in Mayor Frey’s office called “Beloved Community Means No Police.” We built a grave in his office for victims of police violence.
Stay safe today. Always have a way to escape. Help others. And do not talk to police. #NoKing
When the government kidnaps, it is the righteous who stand against state violence. Stay strong. Resist authoritarians. Assist Californians Against Brutality!
It is very much worth a read/re-read. There's a serious way in which seeing that get published by NYT in that season felt like a real win (there is a funny side as well, if you know that Mariame famously doesn't like to write, even though she has released several more amazing books since then).
My 80 year old dad is so upset about the way protestors are being attacked so we got into a conversation about defunding the police & I sent him this piece by @prisonculture.bsky.social. Realized others might want to revisit it too. www.nytimes.com/2020/06/12/o...
Cis-heteronormativity has never been the default for humanity. It has always been maintained through violence and power structures. Pride is a reminder that the fullness of humanity cannot be extinguished no matter how hard oppressors try. Pride is a rebellion against oppression. #HappyPride
Why does God harden Pharaoh's heart? What is this staff of the God(s)? Who is getting circumsized, who's feet (ha!) are being touched, and who is Zipporah's Bridgegroom of Blood? What does it mean for God to hear us? And where does God's penis enter the story? Listen now to find out!
Thank you @retellingthebible.bsky.social & @propheticimage.bsky.social for being a part of this conversation!
While our political system seems to be bent of increasing hatred, it's nice to see local leaders stand for acceptance and equality.

Misogyny wants womanhood defined.
Happy return-of-non-citizen-dispatched-by-an-opressive-government-without-a-fair-trial Day to all who celebrate!
Maundy Thursday is a reminder that the same Jesus that lowered himself to wash feet, is the same Jesus invoked to celebrate the "deportation" of innocence to death camps. It's ironic that so many Christians will celebrate the resurrection of life this weekend while having worshipped death all week
Any time I being up Nazis being a Christian movement, I always get someone saying "Hitler wasn't a Christian" as a means to discredit the statement. Christofascism isn't about being Christian, is about using Christian supremacy to gain power and carry out the logical conclusion of that theology.
If one thing is completely clear from the last week, it's that a large portion of our society will only challenge fascism after it harms the stock market. Evil is when people care more about the economy than violence against other humans.

Today is the 80th anniversary of the death of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. A man who is known for standing up to the same fascism we must stand against today.
In light of all these tariffs, now would be a really good time to develop a sense of class consciousness. Trust me, you have a lot more in common with the people you look down on than the people who look down on you.
