seriously considering releasing this new album I’m working on under my real name, but can’t decide whether that’s more or less pretentious than releasing it under one of my pseudonyms

I find it hard to believe that nobody told Metallica that the verse riff in Inamorata was almost identical to Are You Gonna Go My Way.. or that they somehow didn’t realise it themselves

does anyone else have weird music associations with rhythm and/or melody? one of mine is the bassline from deus ex new york streets level and “watch the time go right out the window” from in the end by linkin park. every time I play it and that level comes up I’m saying that line over and over again

when I was a kid my parents set up a “kangaroo creek gang” kid’s bank account and I remember thinking it was lame when it got “upgraded” to the cool teen version with edgy graphics and “movin’ on up” as a tagline. anyway when I was 14 I withdrew all my money and bought hexen and its expansion

the person who runs tony banks’ facebook page keeps heart reacting comments of mine from 7 years ago like “cmon tony, make another pop album that sounds like it was released 10 years too late” and “does the new remaster remove the sound of tony clearing his throat before singing in that one song?”

nine years ago a taxi driver driving me to melb airport called hobart “hobie” after I told him where I was going and I still think about it.. does *anyone* call it that?!

someone in the supermarket was whistling along to powderfinger’s “my happiness” but instead of whistling the melody they were just whistling one note along with the vocal rhythm, not even in tune. it was alarming and now I kinda wish there was a version of the song like that

if I made my own supermarket I’d put mince next to mints so people don’t get embarrassed when they misinterpret their partner’s verbal instructions // I can keep making the “chicken or spear” joke

rick beato doing a low effort youtube video about the music from severance, calling it a movie and only covering the intro music without paying attention to any of the cool incidental stuff from within the episodes is such a fkn rick beato thing to do
