Tariffs are also not an efficient way to shift tax burdens from US residents onto foreigners.

These tariffs of 10 percent or 12.5 percent on goods from 60 economies under Section 301(b) of the Trade Act of 1974, allege their governments failed to prevent the importation of goods made with forced labor. Would that we look at our own forced labor practices in our prison systems.
Peterson Institute for International Economics@piie.com · 2w agoThe planned tariffs to combat forced labor again raise the question of whether the president has the legal authority to determine and implement US tariff policy—an authority that the Constitution vests in Congress. The answer is no.

Why is the Parasite in Chief and his administration not talking about farm workers working conditions? Conditions on these farms are probably horrid. No health care and having to work while sick is no way to keep our food supply chain safe. Eat from local farms and join or start a food coop.

More paperwork but in the long run, probably healthier for ppl to eat AND healthier for ecology/economy to source locally...?
