I love sugar, but also, eating it makes me feel like crap. There must be a way to square this circle

Thinking about 2003. 19 years old and moving 1,000 miles away from home with a friend. The memory of driving across Arkansas at 2AM, blaring this at full volume, and hollering “I hope we both die” into the night will live with me forever.
I don't even know what to say. This is real, this is true, so, like, thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. This took over 25 years to happen so if there's any lesson here it's either "keep at it, who knows" or "many people are divorced"
I love the period where DEVO had David Kendrick from Sparks on drums. I think he plays with Xiu Xiu now? Felt like they were trying to figure out what to do with early sampler-era synths. What’s DEVO in the 90s? An interesting de-evolution that they abandoned. m.youtube.com/watch?v=MFJG...

(pausing while reading a book to our 7yo) Wife: “Do you know what ‘torment’ means?” 7yo: “I think it’s something to do with a volcano.” Wife: “No, it means ’to cause pain‘.” 7yo: “Okay.“ 7yo: “…” 7yo: “I think it might have two meanings.”

After a solid run of about 13 years at Double Fine, It seems I have found myself with an abundance of free time. If you know anyone hiring for games VFX, please let me know!
@brandon.insertcredit.com pretty sure the movie I was thinking of was Meteo! I thought it was Polish, but it’s Hungarian. m.youtube.com/watch?v=v5Mi...

My partner once asked why I was so fascinated by Eva and all I could muster was “I know it’s fiction? But on some subliminal level I believe somehow, in some spiritual way I can’t articulate… this actually happened.” Can‘t explain it! It’s very singular in that way
in honor of the eva criterion news let’s all remember when wes anderson watched eva

Hi everyone, today me and 22 others at Double Fine were hit by layoffs today. All the people who lost their jobs today care so much about the games they make and the people they work with. If anyone is looking for a tools SE with 7 years of experience and who brings baked goods on Mondays lmk.
DF is losing some really amazing people today. They are some of the smartest kindest people you can ever work with. Please be on the look out for them as they search for what's next!
Justin is always incredibly helpful, and an all around great guy. He set me up with my work computer on my first day at DF, got me oriented in the office, and DROVE ME HOME at the end of the day. Always going the extra mile. An IT champion.
15 years at double fine comes to an end. It’s understandable since I’d been mostly dealing with MS and well… role closed. I hope they can survive.
Silvio is a top-notch engineer. For anyone in my network who is looking for a programmer who can do A LOT, here he is
I suppose this is as good a time as any to update my profile information, seeing as I was one of the 23 people laid off by Double Fine today. Twelve years ended today. I wish it could have been twelve years more.

Layoffs hit Double Fine today, and I'm sorry to report that I was one of the ones hit. If you need a game designer with tech chops and 2+ decades of experience, here I am.
Sam Altman: “The singularity! It’s upon us!! Behold!” Me, not even looking up from playing Desert Bus for even a second: “Damn that’s crazy”
There is no amount of money you could pay me to ride in a helicopter
I finally finished this. I’m glad I stuck with it. About halfway through, the “Tomie ruins a random new person’s life” conceit started to wear, but the last few chapters tell a connected story that was the best part of the book. The art is fantastic, as expected.
Reading this cool manga about a normal woman who is unjustly maligned by everyone she encounters
An IDE is a kind of text editor with a convenience button that invokes a build, and approximately 9000 other features that interrupt you and absolutely fuck your shit up constantly
Whenever someone’s arguing “it’s more faithful to the source material” about an book’s adaptation to the screen, like that makes it intrinsically better in some way, I cannot stress enough how much I do not care
