Well played, @psychicdancehall.bsky.social - terrific day's entertainment with so many excellent sets. May have covered 6 miles criss-crossing Derby between venues, but every step was worthwhile.

Also saw Pram for the first time. Pleasingly unpredictable set, tons of instruments inc stylophone and theremin and the mighty Fliss Kitson on drums (out of shot!) Psychic Dancehall fest had loads to offer in Derby yesterday.

A 🧵of 🔌🔌🔌🙂 Had a truly excellent day yesterday at @psychicdancehall.bsky.social in Derby. Saw 10 acts (only 2 I'd seen before), 2 fantastic venues, lovely festival beer, and an absolutely glorious collection of Tables Of Cables. Would definitely go again if it's a regular thing.

Introducing our line-up... Zolatec Born in Leicester, ZOLATEC is an experienced steel drummer, and established underground/independent artist. Inspired by music ranging from Metal to Dub, she uses software to fuse these influences into her own dark and melodic compositions.

Introducing our line-up...James Adrian Brown You might recognise James Adrian Brown as the guitarist in Pulled Apart By Horses, but these days he has established himself as a stand-alone artist in electronic composition and experimentation.

My lovely old pal Stephen AKA All My Friends Are Synths has just put out a wonderful documentary on the rise of the electronic scene in Glasgow. Still one of my favourite cities of all time without a shadow of a doubt. It’s a bloody wonderful little doc. youtu.be/K74MeBN5FQQ?...

Introducing our line-up.. Pleasure Pool Pleasure Pool is Finn O’Hare (synths, production), Andrew Robertson (vocals), and a rolling cast of Glasgow-based musicians. Pleasure Pool’s sound is a patchwork of echoing, dubby vocals, synth melodies, louche percussion, cowbells, and flecks of trumpet.
