Indian restaurant charges $3.27 for papad via Uber Eats delivery “It’s company policy.” Free papad if you show up to eat in the restaurant. Can we get an investigation here?
i accidentally deleted that "a thought on coltrane" post, so here it is again --

Child: It’s the mayor. Mamdani: *laughs* Child: What? You are the mayor. You could become the king. Mamdani: I’m happy as the mayor. Jalen Brunson is the king.
Why does Tony Stark's house have zero automated defenses in Iron Man 3, and then the Avengers HQ in Endgame is left equally undefended?

I was hoping they would have Spider-Man go all-black eyes and stomp out the Hulk. #BrandNewDay
Were you a child whose family could afford The World Book Encyclopedia?
Were you a child who read The World Book Encyclopedia for fun?
This reminds me of the Mike Pompeus charade handing a blank map of Europe to an NPR reporter and asking her to identify Ukraine, which she effortlessly did.

Actors, directors, and editors should be irate about allowing @bravotvshows.bsky.social and other TV stations to shave down minutes of their film creations, just to squeeze in a few more crappy ads. Some networks speed up to 1.2x and ruin the viewing experience. Films aren't podcasts. @sagaftra.org
Getting sonned by Lukaku is a fitting end to the World Cup run for the YMCA Men's National Team
What if Balogun voluntarily sits out the first half to protest the Supreme Court's 4 votes against birthright citizenship and blatant subversion of the plain language of the 14th Amendment, and then plays the second half and scores 4 goals to lead the USMNT to the World Cup quarterfinals?
What’s the electricity grid SLA for private homeowners vs private businesses or “infrastructure” entities? Do people outrank data centers?
Instead of asking for people to not use their AC in the heatwave, how about turning off the data centers instead?
How about telling businesses to keep their thermostats at 78 and turn off unnecessary computer monitor Windows screensavers
On the same afternoon that almost nobody was turning up for this, Dupont Circle was insanely packed with many 100s of people standing in long lines around the entire park area just because the Indian embassy was handing out free mangoes. 🧐
And yes, clearly attendance is WAY lower than the administration anticipated. There was no line whatsoever the whole time we were there despite preparations for a long one. It’s not empty, but it’s very far from full. A LOT of attendees were DC residents like us who were just curious to witness it.
Putting Dasani into elite athletes midgame has to be a net negative on their performance right
