Apparently Patient Whales was #597 on some kind of college radio chart last month! I'll take it, considering only CFMU in Hamilton has it so far (but Kamloops just asked for a copy, so we're hitting the big time)

A friend pointed me toward YPC2000.fun, a browser tool that lets you chop up YouTube videos into playable slices. I used it to remix one of my oldest jams into something completely different. Super fun experiment! youtu.be/FtyLYeBoI2M

Honoured to have been asked to do a remix for this excellent Nautical Artifacts album. Made mine (track 1) entirely on my Circuit Rhythm nauticalartifacts.bandcamp.com/album/cargo-...

Shook the acoustic rust off at an open mic the other night. Felt good to play some Patient Whales tunes outside the house for the first time
Had some fun jamming with this tiny Canadian-made synth (MOSS-101) and my MIDI guitar pickup. Bonus Spotykach appearance for layering. Love seeing more gear with built-in USB MIDI host ports that make weird little setups like this easy. youtu.be/-d8lsVG5hHs #MIDIguitar #synth #electronicmusic

Had some fun at the art studio yesterday, including this brush pen sketch of me (as @bay-mud.bsky.social) learning my new Spotykach looper (more on that to come)

Patient Whales Ate The Sea Listening Party
It's been a long road getting Patient Whales Ate The Sea finished, so let's celebrate by listening through the album and chatting about how it came together

Been talking a lot about my ambient folk side project, Patient Whales, which is finally finished, and have to continue that today, as it's #bandcampFriday! patientwhales.bandcamp.com Join today's listening party to chat about how these tunes were made. patientwhales.bandcamp.com/live/patient...

Received an email telling me I didn't get a residency I had applied for. Got a chuckle at the first option in my Gmail auto-response list. Imagine just sending back "Bummer."?
Another #BandcampFriday just after I added 2 more songs to this noisy folk collection (hopefully 1 more to come). Up to 10 now! patientwhales.bandcamp.com

Had fun seeing what I could make with nothing but white noise fed into the Chase Bliss Lost + Found pedal. A new series, maybe? youtu.be/521F55l0-zc

And this one came together last week for this Year's #RPMchallenge. Seemed like a fitting album closer (though I still want to sneak one more track before it at some point soon). Another wistful, folky ditty that devolves into layers of ambience patientwhales.bandcamp.com/track/nowher...

Two more tracks added to the (still-growing) Patient Whales collection on Bandcamp. This one was written eons ago and initially performed live as Dog Is Blue with my wife, but I finally recorded it solo. The screamed backups for super fun to record patientwhales.bandcamp.com/track/back-t...

Another lovely RPM listening party in the books. Now to get home and actually try to start something for this month's challenge

My cart for #bandampfriday is filling up already! If you're looking for something unique for your collection, here's where I'm at in various forms: baymud.bandcamp.com - Electronic patientwhales.bandcamp.com - Ambient Folk lordplunder.bandcamp.com - Supervillain Crooner I appreciate you listening!
Had a lot of fun with this one. So many layers of arps and MIDI guitar hidden in there
In advanced of #BandcampFriday, I added another new folky track to the almost-complete Patient Whales album. Listen close for the layers of MIDI guitar under the real thing: patientwhales.bandcamp.com/track/at-a-g...
Got to be part of a fun and challenging one-night art event recently that had me doing a live ambient soundtrack using only phone notification sounds. Super fun in the end! youtu.be/dnjBLuF_YTQ?...

Built these 5 pedals for someone starting a new rig. They gave rough parameters, but I was told to pick 5 that made sense. A tough choice and a lot of anxious drilling and hand-painting. Came out well in the end and they are happy!
It's all true. I was a mess
Happy 2026! Just snuck a 7th folky track on the Patient Whales album. This was half written eons ago at school, then forgotten until recently. If you're curious about the woes of a pretentious green-haired art student with mono, this one's for you patientwhales.bandcamp.com/track/3rd-ye...
A little gift for my wife, who is both encouraging of the weird monsters I draw in my sketchbook and is also currently doing a lot of Duolingo (fun to try out some new acrylic markers too)
Was sketching during the latest #RPMchallenge listening party. Sort of lost steam on the details, but weird monsters are always fun

Went back-to-basics with a no-talking ambient jam this week, as I dusted off the (classic?) Volca Keys to pair it with the Onward for maximum madness. A fun pair! youtu.be/4za4olkoGRs

In advance of Bandcamp Friday, I snuck another new quirky song on the (still growing) Patient Whales album (my folky side-project). This time from the point of view of the mouse that may or may not be living with us (lots of glitchy pedals, as usual): patientwhales.bandcamp.com/track/the-mo...
