Typical #rpg Optional Superboss -Ancient Superweapon sealed away by the gods -Requires cheesy exploits to survive past the 1st turn -Isn't even the strongest being lorewise but the stats say otherwise -Character design draws upon collective millennia of eschatological myth folklore 1/2

I'm reading Chivalry & Sorcery, a ttrpg that really goes all-in on in-depth rules for medieval simulation. The character creation has 20 steps, and a huge amount of highly-specific occupations. One of them is charcoal merchant, which gave me an idea to try and build a "medieval Hank Hill"

Hank Hill from King of the Hill is at a Renaissance fair, dressed in a period-appropriate green-brown tunic. He is talking to a man dressed as a king complete with cape, crown, and royal emblem of a shield with red and purple stripes. The king has a confused look on his face, while people in the crowd behind him look bored and unenthusiastic.

I recently finished reading Flee, Mortals by MCDM Productions, and I get the hype. From variant CR threat levels and roles for many of the classic humanoid monsters to Retainer/Companion rules for monstrous sidekicks, it's perhaps the best "monster manual" for #dnd #5e I've read.

I recently finished Dawnsbury Days, a fun video game utilizing the #pathfinder2e rules. Unlike Solasta or Baldur's Gate 3 you really need to ensure that your entire party synergizes in terms of strategy. Making party members in a vacuum hurts more than in the 5e games if you have weak spots.

Today I played and finished a rather offbeat game. Concept derives from the unsettling atmosphere of liminal spaces. Perhaps the most relaxing horror game I've played. Downside is that it's not the kind of game to have much replay value. store.steampowered.com/app/2663530/...

I'm self-conscious about my creative work and never think it's good enough, so I haven't promoted my first solo product much. But I guess I might as well. D&D 5e (2014) subclasses and some other stuff. Should be mostly compatible with 2024. It's cheap! www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/4...
