Guess who just learned Build and Quake 3 use the exact 3d model type (MD3) ...i do like quake 3... so... maybe... the girls may actually have to join.

So started the night super high, getting build to use multiple pallates between environments and guns/foes/player character and a basic menu system. I just spent 3 fucking hours trying to get .ogg working in build. I got it, but build threw more wrenches into the mix than it needed to.

@professorxenon.bsky.social just went to night so... I'm gonna be modifying Build engine a bit.

So first impressions: Good: QOL changes for professions more quests in starting zones Healing potions moved to first aid uses improved crafing interface Camping gives an xp buff/rested xp given and family names now Reagent bag slot from retail feels more social, less bad jokes

im not gonna record another video yet, but I got some rudimentary compainion AI going. ...which what I've searched... I may have built the first? Olympia can pick up her own guns, buy her own guns, buy her own ammo, heal herself, back off if too hurt and prioritizes targets based on HP/distance.

I should probably stop working for the night soon. Lots of progress, next will be a lot of art fixing (fuck ai) Olympia's in the game follows julie in single player, occasionally shit talks, helps on combat if shes low health she backs off.

So build doesnt natively have swimming, which is fine. got that sorted. working on the kill/credit system now. aka getting paid for killing cultists.

On the upside, it feels like we're entering the Rocky Period of LLM growth. Where it dawns on the market that there's not enough money in the world to sustain it, and it starts fucking with everyone's lives, and all the programmers regret their lifetime obsession with automating rote tasks.
