It's an odd thing to say of a politician, but Jeffries has no ambition. He's an NYC machine flunky who got tapped by Pelosi to lead the Dems because her no. 1 choice lost a primary. This is as good as it's gonna get for him. He has no vision for the party or America. He's just defending his turf.
Jonathan Cohn @jonathancohn.bsky.social · 2d agoThe problem with Jeffries is that he has a combativeness toward DSA that stems from NYC political fights. He views them as a threat rather than as one pole in a big tent because he is constantly backing opposing candidates locally.
Hakeem Schumer and Chuck Jeffries would rather Democrats lose to Trump forever than lose their control over the Democratic party. They work only for their billionaire donors. They both must be fired and replaced.
Maybe he'll be inspired by the way his hero, Hitler, got out of being prosecuted.
