Who mindlessly went to get a bucket of cookies to bring to the gathering tonight; the gathering being the Overeaters Anonymous meeting?! This gal! SMDH 🤪

TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS. Trust your common sense. Even when people see the best in you, but you know that your best isn't happening right now, trust in that. I wish I had said, "Thank you for thinking so well of me, and while I know I have the ability to do this, I am not able to do this now." 😭
It's been a horrendous week. I got involved with something that I was woefully unqualified for, and I had to back out. Drama. My nervous system is still trying to calm down days later. I'm waiting to see what consequences will occur over time. Road to Hell paved with good intentions kind of thing. 😞
There was talk of getting a sponsor, and I had one lady that was a possibility, so I need to work up the courage to contact her. I will be attending again. Thankfully they are also virtual. OA is not for everyone, for sure, but I am glad I can try it. #OvereatersAnonymous
I was mostly in agreement with OA's take on the condition, and there was some disagreement within me. I certainly do not jive with the use of "God" and "Higher Power", but like at UU, I have ways around those. The people there didn't mind that I am an Atheist, thankfully. (2/3)
My first OA meeting yesterday went well. The people were nice and accepting. It isn't a traditional support group, so I have to get used to that. We mostly read aloud from literature. I felt comfortable enough to read and speak in front of the people a few times, so that is a great sign. (1/3)
Tonight I plan on going to my first OE meetup. I knew for decades I was a food addict, but I never really owned it. I am hoping to learn about a life of abstaining from foods that trigger my BED, and how to manage my mindset so I don't use food as the drug it has been for me since I was a child.
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
A friend sent me this amazing rattie cardigan, complete with a cheese pocket! Keep Jaxy in your good thoughts. His lungs are not good. No URI this time, just lungs. He is back on meds, but will be going into the vet if he doesn't show improvement soon.
Some cute Ajax and Astyanax pics! They are doing better. Both enjoy sleeping along my legs. Each boy spends 2+ hours with me most days, and by the time I put them back in their cage, they seem to be ready to be done with me. LOL #RatsOfBlueSky #PetRats
Children need color! They need art! I hate this fucking era of American culture.
I did Paint Me Mine for the first time yesterday! This is Mike. He will say you can lick him for a good time, but do not. That is the cap of a killer, not a lover!
Standard advice doesn't work for a lot of people, and many folks feel shame over that. I noticed what works for me and others is sometimes the opposite advice. Giving yourself the treat BEFORE the hard task *can* give you the chemicals needed to get something done. #neurodivergency
An ICE officer is trained for 71 days. It takes 150 days to become a certified pet stylist at Petco. One grooms dogs… the other carry’s guns. This is what’s wrong with our country.
The next couple months seem to be the only time you can walk around stores saying, "Where are the coffins I saw online?" and no one bats an eye. 😁 🦇👁️ It's a great time to connect with other people on the Spooktrum. It's a lovely camaraderie for sure.
One of the local radio stations programs statements into their streaming displays. Got this bit of poetry today. 🤣
AI is not the future. AI is a crutch that too many people already lean on. The future is human creativity. The future is letting people express themselves as best they can. The future is the human experience. We need to support that future, not some shitty tech bro's miserable cheap paradise.
The boys are doing better after more than a week of antibiotics. Still a few days to go. I did find out that Jax, with his anxiety, hyperventilates ✨dramatically✨ when he is nervous. This is my first rat with an anxiety disorder, so it's been a lot of learning with him.
Been loving finding odd bits of vintage clothing on clearance at Goodwill! This 80s blouse was $2.50. Are those constellations? Cave drawings? One may never know. LOL I wonder what this reseller paid for the one they are offering for $55. 🙃
If you've seen the latest episode of #TheVampireLestat, tell me..... WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT?!! I may have let out a little scream at the end. Well done, writers and showrunners. Seriously..... WT ACTUAL F is going on?!! 😶
Found these in PGH. They didn't come home with me, though. They are a fun way to show off body jewelry when you cannot actually have bits of metal where you would want them!
I saw this bit of nonsense for a good price online and had to have it. So many questions. What happened to the rats' teeth?! Are the keys the skull's teeth? Is he doomed for his afterlife to communicate out of his noggin because he ran his mouth too much in life? #Halloween
Keep Jax and Nax in your good thoughts. Both are suffering from colds, but poor Jax's has quickly moved into his lungs. Meds have been started, but take time. Trip to see vet tomorrow, if needs be. 🤎🐭🐀🤎 #PetRats #RatsOfBlueSky
I had to stop Wegovy in March bc of insurance no longer covering it to treat Binge Eating Disorder. My food obsession came back very quickly, and I became dependent on sweets especially to get through life. Within the past 7 weeks alone, I gained 12 pounds. 😣 Time to get back into active recovery.
The day has come! Mama, my African Milk Tree, has hit the ceiling! I HATE HATE HATE having to trim her even an inch, but it is for her own good. She will get thicker now, which will be nice.
