CLP – Main was Andrew Carnegie’s original library gift to the City of Pittsburgh, and it shared space with the Carnegie Institute’s museum. It was dedicated on November 5, 1895, in the Music Hall by Mr. Carnegie clp125.org

Andrew Carnegie never asked for name recognition on his libraries but it became so common that the brand emerged into the term ‘Carnegie Library’ symbolising something special! (Ballyduff, 1904)

In the old days (hurrah for the hourly @Enterprise!), I used to go early to buy a ticket from a kiosk, buy all the newspapers to read, and buy a large coffee, then check the planned bus replacements…
