The few young queer people who have decided that *bad fiction is bad and therefor should be punishable by law or social ostracism* and likely DO NOT truly understand how easily anti-obscenity laws are weaponized against queer people - only need to be told one thing: Heartstopper should exist.

#heartsky is so lovely and way better than "the bad place". I was going to post something about how dumb it is to bully fic authors over a creative work of fiction, but I can honestly say I've never seen it happen here. If you don't understand how fic and fandoms work, log off. some people suck.

Hi there. Isn't it interesting how the most popular TV shows and movies this year (Sinners, Kpop Demon Hunters, and Heated Rivalry) were all hyper specific stories, proving that "universal appeal" (i.e. appealing to white straight folks) is not actually that appealing?

Seriously, heated rivalry turned this year from meh into the joy of experiencing a cultural phenomenon as it's happening. It honestly feels like more than just a show, it feels like permission to hope again. I love when I can find something worth hyperfixating over lol.

I've been trying to think of what a sapphic forbidden love heated rivalry story would be and it's hard because even in hyper-feminine spaces like beauty pageants we already have real life versions. Maybe church camp or something. What would an equivalent story be?
