Folks have made their interests into their entire personality & "brand" so when someone disagrees or dislikes those things people take it as an attack on their existence that they must defend themselves against. Entertainment likes/dislikes have also been turned into moral issues.

Extremely underrated Satoshi Kon movie. One of my favorites of his. Its still trippy and hypnotic as Satoshi Kon is known for but its also quite beautiful, VERY in love with filmmaking and thoroughly bittersweet. Catch it when youre able!
