once again I would like to say that I think it’s ok to like something (a movie for example) that isn’t beat for beat taken from the original text (or the translated version) but inspired by it instead and also it’s okay to like both, nothing is stopping you from that

This was at a time before we really knew what we know now. Another friend of mine had a small HP tattoo and got it covered as soon as she could. You can’t easily or cover or remove a sleeve. I don’t care how much a franchise or characters mean to you - it’s a bad idea to do this.

Whenever JK comes up in the news I think about the woman in my MFA who had a full sleeve and chest piece done of the characters. From what I remember she was studying to be a teacher.

The only taxidermied blue whale in the world, 1865 CE, now housed at the Natural History Museum in Sweden. The public was allowed to enter the whale up until a couple was found having sex inside it. Now the whale’s jaws are opened only for special occasions, such as Swedish election days.

There’s a woman who comes to my book club every month who I would describe (without really knowing her) as a suburban housewife type. When she first joined, she hated most of what we read because of how strange and different it was from her usual books…

Not to really lean into two things can be trueism but I think it’s possible to enjoy Nolan’s take on the Odyssey & also enjoy Wilson’s takedown of it. We don’t need to pick sides here or be mean about it.
