Seeing all these horrible people including Kemi Badenoch eulogising Rod Liddle as this beloved figure, is weirdly bringing me back to the Jason Arday drama. It may sound tenuous, but I think a real problem in society is that certain groups always get punished, while others don't.

Well this is a fun game. I’ve long thought Walter Benjamin, Fernando Pessoa, and Mina Loy all had ADHD (and that this was, indirectly, a reason I was drawn to them, long before I was diagnosed). Who wants to add to the list?

Marx totally had ADHD. The dude hardly ever finished anything, and his critique of capitalism is basically "don't make us do things that don't give us dopamine hits".

I accept that it *might* be a plea to the public, who could also believe in this BS. But it appears to show little solidarity. Oh yes, don't worry about the regional universities. Never mind what they do for the students and towns there. No, it's the top, the "premier" ones we need worry about!

More grim analysis of the situation at UK universities. But it warns of damage only to "top universities". His previous piece also does so. Accepting this hierarchy is the precise elitist logic they seem to want: all but Oxbridge + UCL etc. can close. democracyforsale.substack.com/p/inside-bri...

Inside Britain's university crisis

As teaching staff face job loss, their bosses have netted pay rises and bought advice from a “vampiric” management consultancy, writes Prof. John Heathershaw of the University of Exeter

Things I and friends have done to calm an angry abusive man from further escalating and killing us or our children: -Smiled -Kept normal schedules in order not to trigger a fight -Appeased with kind acts (cooking, cleaning, favors) -Forced friendly tones and words

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

2 questions for those fretting about Jason Arday: 1. Are you willing to apply the same scrutiny to the PhDs of all other Cambridge profs to weed out plagiarists? I'm *certain* you'll find others, most of whom have come the standard academic route. If yes, crack on, let us know when you're done.

The right wing press is attacking Jason Arday, afaik britain's only Black autistic professor, for plagiarism in his PhD. There is evidence of copying passages which should be corrected; but I think this is very common, its just that nobody notices or complains if you're white. Solidarity with Jason.

Yes, because she’s a very right wing crank, just as about 99.8% of the noisiest and most frequently interviewed Concerns About The Labour Party dickheads are just very right wing cranks. Maureen was a crank when she was hammering Ed Miliband in 2014, and she’s still one now.
