It was Rogation-tide, when the land was blessed and the ancient bounds of the parish were beaten, every gospel oak and half-forgotten brook and fielden edge remembered and passed down the generations.

#smallbeautieshour I was to Kraków last week. A wonder of a small door; glass catalogue at the wonderful stained glass museum; a baked cheesecake at the wonderful Manggha Museum cafe - we went back for lunch after seeing the exhibitions. Dobranoc ~ nos da #becauseofClem #threadofgold

A cleansing moment and early entry for #SmallBeautiesHour, a blackbird singing his heart out.
Evening BlueSky peeps. For #SmallBeauties this week a lovely butterfly stopped by, forsythia in full bloom, almost time for tulips and yet more lovely mini daffs 🌱💛 #SmallBeautiesHour #BecauseofClem #threadofgold
I can’t work out whether the brick pillar is supporting the twisted trunk, or the twisted trunk is holding up the pillar. Either way, it’s a fine sight. #BecauseOfClem #ThreadOfGold💛 #SmallBeautiesHour
Lots of things for #SmallBeautiesHour this week: ladybird, violet, rhubarb, seedlings and catching up with family

Spring is so full of small beauties that it’s one great enveloping beauty—but here for #SmallBeautiesHour, a few tiny highlights from this morning: the first trillium in the woods, wild (chaparral) currant, & a moth or butterfly mirroring the white milkmaids by the trail.
Kate’s Moore's experience getting treatment for her osteoarthritis involved refusing to be fobbed off and being persistent with her GP. It’s a lesson more of us could learn. @northeastbylines.co.uk @oscarwoofs.bsky.social

Hooray for being here for #smallbeautieshour for the next 3 weeks! I have missed it! Here then are some March #SmallBeauties: loving the presence of the everyday angel pigeons on warming days, the promise of clouds of yew pollen, the beauty of lacy hydrangea skeletons, violets.
We had a great (wet) day with the BBS Irish Bryophyte Group on Saturday. The morning in Ravensdale Forest where Jubula hutchinsiae is abundant in the gorge and afternoon at Long Woman's Grave, with Braunia imberbis on nearly every gabro boulder and occasional cushions of Glyphomitrium daviesii.
Crocheted carrot lavender bags! This makes me happy! @radicalhoneybee.bsky.social @jeanietrefaldwyn.bsky.social
🧶 Done but for a finishing frond trim, a crop of botanically homedyed wool crochet spring carrots & the notebook page of the pattern recipe should it so bring delight - these folksy little lavender filled veggies are meant as easter gifts for green fingered allotment friends...
