This Woody Harrelson quote from Michael Winterbottom's WELCOME TO SARAJEVO just struck me like a hard blow to the face.
The tech that young ppl generally embrace is stuff that helps them rebel, allows greater self-expressivity, creates a shared generational vernacular. AI ain't it. In fact AI corrals new thinking into stale, billionaire-owned algorithmic patterns that are the opposite. futurism.com/artificial-i...
Usually, Young People Embrace New Technology. Gen Z's Attitude Toward AI Should Worry the Entire Tech Industry
Gen Z is increasingly skeptical about AI, according to a new survey, because of its perceived negative impact on humanity.

They let me get a little spicy on main over *that* NYT op-ed. So without further ado…a few cents on David Ellison’s plea to the American people to let him win this round of Monopoly. Full story at the link 👇

Studio execs are going to want to adapt more poems for the big screen now
Watched The Odyssey at the multiplex yesterday and the packed theatre actually made me a tad emotional. I live in a fairly small city, and most of the time there’s barely half a dozen people in a screening. The waitress at the restaurant nearby said it’s the busiest week they’ve had in years.
For most of my life, my pinnacle (as yet unfulfilled) relationship goal has been to have my hair washed on the deck of a boat like in DEAD CALM. RIP to the wonderful Sam Neill who played bad guys and good guys, but who had a specialist talent for making decency the sexier option, even vs Billy Zane.
Never forget that time Sam Neill gave a quote about murder that was so beautifully kabonkers, we all assumed it was a Clickhole bit initially
Many, many great Sam Neill films, but the first to come to my head this morning is the lovely Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Playing the silent grump is a trap to lesser actors, but Neill plays Hec with this palpable undercurrent of tenderness that struck me deeply at the time and still does, now.
I enjoy the use of “moonwalk” here as it makes it seem like the film now has to make its way backwards towards paying audiences $1 billion back
Antoine Fuqua's King of Pop movie Michael has moonwalked past the $1 billion mark at the box office, becoming the first biopic ever to hit the milestone. Read more: www.empireonline.com/movies...
Every time the World Cup comes along, I feel an urge to pick a Premier League team to support and then am brutally reminded of how maddeningly expensive stadium tickets are in the UK. We’ve seen better days in Brazil, sure, but I still managed to watch my team at the stadium every single week.
I would like to approach the bench at the court of tiniest causes and plead my case: if you recline your seat on an hour-long flight, you have no consideration for others and I dislike you.
This Senegal loss just destroyed me. My god, I love football but it can be so very cruel.
