Honestly, tonight's show is very much not to be missed! We've got it all: AI slop peddling, ministerial meddling, evil corporations, a Class 66 costing £100M, wannabe tech bros and a sacking nobody is talking about yet. And all of it giving a clear view of where GBR is going.

There are many great things about having kids. One of which is that they truly know what to bring back as little gifts when returning from overseas trips. This one was sourced from Goodge Street tube station! (When did they change its name from Journey Planner to Tube map?)

I noticed the other day that the two Suburban Rail Loop TBMs that had been assembled above ground at Burwood/Deakin were no longer visible. This is why - they're now both underground!

Beneath an overcast sky, diesel locomotive 2420 in Queensland Rail light blue and cream livery, at the head of a passenger train and with its headlight shining straight at us, swings around a hard right hand curve out of a railway station yard and across a level crossing manned by a crossing guard in shorts and very fetching two-tone cardigan, holding out a small red flag to warn oncoming road traffic of the train.

Gee! What do we see here? It's one of Melbourne's new G class trams, filmed in action at the new Maidstone Depot. The first of these beauties is expected to enter service very soon, and will progressively replace the 1980s-era Z class trams on routes initially in the western suburbs.

I am definitely no Botanist, but am I looking here at an exotic deciduous tree? If so, it seems to have Autumn leaves and Spring flowers in the middle of Winter.

What appears to be a deciduous tree with spring flowers, yellow autumn leaves plus green leaves simultaneously on the same twig.

A goods train heads south on the Spence Street line in Cairns. The line crossing the road was the main access track to Cairns Railway station Exactly 40 years ago today, July 27 1986 I spent the rest of that day out on Green Island, so this was my only rail pic from that day. Lots tomorrow though.

A Queensland Rail diesel-hauled 1067mm gauge goods train heads south along a main line railway that runs along the far side of a suburban street. A track curving away from that line, crosses the street at a level crossing and passes directly beneath us.
