I rounded of my weekend trip to Edinburgh by taking the train to a very wet North Berwick & Prestonpans 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

At the weekend I was in Edinburgh and I decided to get a Borders Explorer ticket which entitles you to a return train journey from Edinburgh to Galashiels/Tweedbank and then unlimited use on Borders buses from Galashiels Interchange to some of the towns and villages in the Scottish Borders

I stayed in Morpeth for my Northumberland adventure and before leaving I explored this charming market town 😀

This weekend I was up in Northumberland and I ended up visiting Holy Island by taking the 477 bus which runs there on Wednesday and Saturday tide times permitting 🌊

Yesterday I had a disastrous day in Berlin, I was on an S-Bahn train which hit a fallen tree on the line so I was stuck for over an hour while the line was cleared. When we finally moved it crawled to the next station where it terminated and in the confusion I left my phone on the train seat 📱😭

It's time to head towards home, yesterday lunchtime caught the overnight Lux Express Coach from Tallinn to Warszawa. For this journey I had booked a solo premium relax seat on that coach which offers more comfort and space but unfortunately I got downgraded to a standard seat due to a coach change

For my final day in Estonia I visited the medieval City of Viljandi which was full of surprises 😊🛤️🇪🇪

Today I went as far east as I could go in Estonia to the City of Narva 🇪🇪🛤️ #interrail

Today I sampled Elron (Estonian Railways) for the very first time and their Stadler Flirts and travelled from Tallinn to Valga 🇪🇪

My final morning in Finland and I explored Helsinki but the weather was atrocious 🇫🇮🌧️

Back on the trains today starting with a trip to Lahti 🇫🇮🛤️ #interrail

Some time ago I saw a video about the fortress island of Suomenlinna so I had to visit so boarded a ferry which takes 15 minutes to get across to the island from Helsinki 🗾🏰

No trains for me today as I took a few different modes of public transport in Finland and firstly took the bus to Porvoo 🇫🇮

Slightly later start today and I caught the VR Pendolino to Pori #interrail

Early start for my Finnish Railway Adventures as I went to Kuopio #interrail 🛤️ It was nice to see an old locomotive on display outside of the station 🚂🙂

My final stop of the day was to Hyvinkää home of the Suomen Rautatiemuseo (Finnish Railway Museum)🚂🇫🇮

This morning I took the VR double decker intercity train to Tampere🇫🇮 #interrail

After a good night's sleep I was ready to hit Finland's trains for the first time so I headed to Helsinki Station and caught the 07:34 to Turku 🇫🇮🚄 #interrail

I survived my first ever overnight coach journey and arrived in Tallinn, Estonia a country I've never been to before. Is that the end of your longest journey I hear you cry, well not quite I have one more to get to my final destination. Had a quick look at Tallinn Station before going to the port 🛳️

I left Warszawa last night to continue my long journey into the Balkans and I took the overnight Lux Express Coach, I'd booked a premium solo relax seat for comfort but unfortunately the coach got swapped out and I got bumped down to a cramped standard seat so I didn't have the best night sleep 🥱😳

I arrived in Warsaw more or less on time 🙂 First thing I wanted to do was visit the railway museum but when I got there I found it was closed due to a special event 😔 I made my way to the old town and first thing I saw was the tomb of the unknown soldier, it's watched over by 2 armed soldiers 💂💂

I had an early Sunday morning explore of Frankfurt Oder

It's time to embark on another European adventure, this will be my longest and most ambitious journey thus far but I'll be stopping off at a few places along the way #Eurostar #Interrail #Trainsnotplanes #FlightFree2026

This weekend I had some London Northwestern Railway sale Promo Tickets to Liverpool

Yesterday was a travelling home day as you can tell by the expression on my face 😂 I took a total of 7 trains from Basel SBB to Wolverhampton. I arrived back home about 30 minutes late. Another #Interrail #CrossBorderRail #Trainsnotplanes adventure comes to a close 🇨🇭 🛤️

Today I used my #interrail pass on BLS boats as it's valid so I went to Thun and boarded the MS Thun Stad to Oberhofen 🇨🇭

Today I went to a lovely little place on the Lake called Stansstad 🇨🇭 #interrail

Yesterday I got to ride on the Lausanne Metro and then took a #CrossBorder Boat from Lausanne 🇨🇭over to Evian-Les-Bains 🇫🇷 The crossing only takes 35 minutes.
