Spent a good chunk of time at my current company helping get Keet, an Electron-based P2P chat app, onto Flathub. Lots of coordination across teams went into it. Nice to finally see it land. flathub.org/en/apps/io.k...
Working on a Flatpak app, I learned something neat about its sandbox. You don't need broad filesystem permissions to write to user dirs. A file chooser grants access and returns a special /run/user/... path mapped to the real location. Writes end up in the user's filesystem.
Found a small trembling life, feathers ruffled, eyes wide with fear. As crows circled overhead, I couldn't stand by. Scooped it up and brought it home—fragile, wild, yet hopeful. What began as a small act of kindness became a cosy shelter.
Feels surreal to have shared a timeline with the creator of such a fundamental algorithm. RIP Tony Hoare.

How do you even process GitHub comments when there are more than the number of fingers you have?
The @nodejs.org project operates under Open Governance. Not everything needs to be public but we used to default to openness. That culture is shifting and it's worrying.
