Today we are launching the 2026 SHP Summer Conference, which will be taking place July 10-12 at Leeds Trinity. This year, due to the huge increase in proposals for workshops, we have extended our offer to 46 wonderful workshops for primary and secondary teachers of history (see below for a taster!

I totally support the National Year Of Reading initiative. We desperately need a culture of reading for pleasure to replace the culture of constant testing in schools, backed by proper government funding. And we need STORYTIME to be part of the school day, every day! #literacy (Art: Chris Riddell)

So Oak's new AI lesson planner has really got me thinking. Who exactly is it aimed at? My guess is that the most likely people to use it are new teachers and those with limited subject knowledge on a topic. So how well does it do the job if that's you? I thought I'd try it out...
