Working with @ehameeteman.bsky.social on this was one of the high points of 2025. I am immensely grateful and proud of this! Thank you! @ehameeteman.bsky.social

@ramya.bsky.social and I set out to foreground diversity in topic, method, and voices across nine thematic categories. The result, we hope, reflects the field’s interdisciplinarity and its growing justice-centered, relational and decolonial turn.

This episode of CBC's The Current reminded me of my discussion of fear in this @nichecanada.bsky.social blog post from 2019. "Humans and Dogs and Bears, Oh My! – A Summer Podcast Reflection" - niche-canada.org/2019/08/08/h... #envhist #animalhistory #bears #humananimalrelations

Saw this from @nichecanada.bsky.social and just assumed the grizzly was a democratic socialist who had strong policies for environmental protection, and his landslide election to town council has upended local politics. I'm not going to listen. I like my story. www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

For Educators

Contingent publishes accessible, engaging, well-researched pieces on history, the work of doing history, and the community of people involved in that work.
