The entire case for "the law is a discipline requiring deep expertise & training & we can't have non-lawyers adjudicating the law in democracies' highest courts" collapses completely in a world where the lawyers are burning entrails & acting as pure partisan hack politicians & we are that world now.

The Epstein files changed me forever. I read them in painstaking detail over months, realizing in real time that we are not ruled by laws equally applied. We are ruled by wealth, access, and protection networks. America is a syndicate. I’ll never get over it, so don’t ask me to.
