Been randomly thinking about an old series where they randomly got 2 chars, a place, and a prompt and had half an hour to write it. Tried it with a friend, got Phoenix Wright & Wigglytuff where one’s a ghost now. Apparently mine was good, but my Phoenix was OoC. So…good writing practice, at least?

Finished up with Brillaint Diamond. Not much to say that hasn't already been said, a game almost perfected in Platinum made worse in a bunch of little ways for no real reason, dropping it a tier. S tier soundtrack though. Also Mindwave is a fantastic Warioware spiritual successor, go play the demo.
Ranger@rangernumberx.bsky.social · 2y agoI think I'll probably tier list games I'm playing this year since I'm aiming to clear out my backlog so uhhh...C tier. Like, a very high C tier, but I just wanted a story, or something more impactful for future runs, something that gave me more of a feeling of progression as I played.
I think I'm done with Balatro. I can definitely see how it hooks people in, and I may infrequently go back to it, but there's just not enough to keep me addicted. Maybe because I mostly choose to run flushes and win.
Been commed to watch the 90s Iron Man cartoon and...it's bizzare. - Open with an entirely original villain, but then decide to throw out every rogue they have access to, from Mandarin to Fin Fang Foom - Intro slaps names on villains like stickers at a used car dealership - Hawkeye is there - This
In other news, I started my goal to clear games from my backlog by finally getting out my PS2 this evening and starting up Okami! I feel this game is a 10/10 already just for the bark button.

Happy (soon to be) New Year! What’s everyone’s resolutions / projects for 2025? I’m hoping to make something new from each of my cookbooks, and to notably work away at my game backlog instead of constantly adding to it. Would also put voice training up there, but that’s never going to happen.
Started playing Balatro on the train back home from Christmas, and, yeah, I definitely see it. I can see myself losing a lot of time into this. … (Immediately looks up Balatro on AO3 out of curiosity)

"Trials of the Pike Queen" (Pokemon) --- When I wrote a fic for In Pursuit of Victory, a zine dedicated to all the Pokemon Battle Facilities, my first draft was slightly over the word limit...by about 4k. Now I'm happy to have proofed and posted the unabridged fic!
