Today is an important day for me. My grandfather, who passed away on March 31st 2026, would have turned 85. He was like a second father to me. He cared for me, was there when no one else would, always listened to me yap, and never judged me for my passions. A part of me disappeared that day (1/2)

Yup. I know bullies online who are perfectly pleasant offline, and what I take from that is "Oh, so you know how to behave when you might get punched." And to tell on myself, this is one reason I'm a nicer person online now than I was a decade+ ago. I stopped liking that version of me, a lot.

One of the things us an industry need to stop doing is perpetuating the 'they say this on social media, but they're a sweetheart in real life' about awful people I've had other journos say this to me about some of the most pernicious grifters over the years, some of who crossed many lines this week
