Five years ago today and 10,776 days after Wimbledon’s football club last played a home game at Plough Lane, AFC Wimbledon drew 2-2 with Doncaster Rovers inside our new stadium (sadly behind closed doors due to COVID-19). But we did it. We brought the Dons home 💙💛

FT 0-0. A point gained rather than two dropped as we never really got going. Eleven games unbeaten and a 17th clean sheet for Owen Goodman probably the highlights. Safe journey home to the 158 travelling Dons fans.

Hotel receptionist kindly let us into our room two hours earlier than the planned check-in, so made the most of the extra time to have a good look around Nice. And after five miles of walking, a well-earned drink 😊

Granddaughter nicely responded to some (gentle) playground teasing from Chelsea and Palace ‘fans’ about supporting AFC Wimbledon with “I told the boys I actually go to games and get to meet the players. You don’t.” Good girl. And her Dad said to me “You gave me the same advice when I was her age…” 😊

After two recent postponements AFC Wimbledon are finally back in action today and a first Plough Lane fixture in 2025. Allow a bit more time for your matchday journey due to road and rail disruption but bring your voices. Three points against lowly Tranmere are a must! 🔵🟡

A photo from 10 July 2002. When we went to revisit the FA, gatecrashed an EFL Chairmen’s protest and most then went on to AFC Wimbledon’s inaugural friendly at Sutton United and were later shocked when a certain someone here took Pete Winkelman’s twenty pieces of silver and moved to Buckinghamshire.

Have never forgotten the name of Lee Boxell since this heartbreak happened in 1988. A big football fan who watched several local clubs (including Wimbledon) I really hope his father will finally find some answers (and peace) concerning Lee’s disappearance. www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/2484058...

Dad pleads for answers on 'caring' son who vanished in Sutton nearly 40 years ago

Peter Boxell is pleading with the public to come forward with any information on his son Lee Boxell, who disappeared nearly 40 years ago.
