For the 50th anniv of the original KK in 1983, a full-size Kong balloon was placed atop the ESB. Due to winds and weather, it only stayed up a few days, but it was great to see the old boy back where he belongs while it lasted. My new book KING KONG: THE HISTORY OF A MOVIE ICON is available now.
