Corporate spending on elections has already topped $500 million this year. That's one third of the $1.58 billion in total that corporations have spent since Citizens United in 2010. Hawaii and Montana both have plans to neutralize this disastrous SCOTUS ruling. Other states must get on board.

This is hubristic nonsense. Mayfield signed a 3 year, $100M contract with Tampa Bay, including $28.9M signing bonus, $50M guaranteed and an avg annual salary of $33.M. Mr. Mayfield should wait tables full time for a year w/out being able to afford rent or healthcare and then talk about disrespect.

The news of Glen Hansard’s passing has hit me unexpectedly hard. The last time I experienced this with a non -family/friend death was the late singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith. Sometimes I’m just unaware of how deeply I connect with a musician’s work. This is one of them.
