Duke Scott breaks away for 43-yard gain on his first attempt. He then picks up three yards and Davion Gause takes the next carry for 19 yards for his first TD in an NC State uniform. NC State takes a 7-0 lead over Richmond after a four-play drive for 77 yards.

We have 13 minutes left in the first half and Beau Pribula has attempted one pass. NC State's defense has now allowed 103 yards rushing on 19 attempts, with UVA leading 10-0.

Could not ask for a worse start for NC State in this one. UVA takes a 10-0 lead on a Xavier Brown one-yard rush after CJ Bailey's interception on the Wolfpack's side of the field. Still a lot of time left, but the offense needs to wake up. Quick.

CJ Bailey is picked off by UVA at the NC State 33-yard line. He's now 3-6 for 12 yards with one interception through the first three drives. NC State has yet to gain a first down more than 10 minutes into the season opener.

The NC State offense looks out of sorts early on. CJ Bailey has taken multiple big hits on scrambles, underthrew his receiver on that last play and still hasn't picked up a first down through two drives. Meanwhile, Beau Pribula just picked up his second first down on an obvious QB keeper.

NC State projected to finish seventh in the ACC in preseason media poll. Miami was selected as the favorite with 165 of the 188 first-place votes. Stanford picked to finish dead last, despite earning one first-place vote.
