I think this shows polling is untrustworthy. I believe that the case for Stevens being “more electable” is … polling. This suggests to me that maybe we should back the candidate with a vision and fresh ideas who can win without corporate money against a PAC gorged candidate.

May be wrong here, but my sense is there is a whole media apparatus that aggressively screens Dem candidates and cautions voters not to support the more left-wing candidate. And this is asymmetric. Credible media messengers don't police right-wing candidates the same way.

I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

This is such a lazy piece. It's like "this is a price control, and price controls always fail." First, it's not a price control. It's a government subsidy. Second, price controls don't "always" backfire. They prevent gouging in emergencies and help regulate monopolies.

A lot of people on this site are going to have major mental and emotional breakdowns after Abdul El-Sayed wins in Michigan.
New Yorkers had to subsidize the $117 million that the NYPD paid out for misconduct lawsuits in 2025 alone, even though most of them were never personally abused by a cop. Where's your worried op-ed on that one?

The effective federal corporate income tax rate: 1950: 50% 1990: 25% 2020: 13% Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate. That is how we will pay for it.
