For many years I wondered, "how bad will Republicans have to get before the media/political establishment in the US gets over its endless obsession with scolding & tone policing the left?" I think at this point we have to acknowledge that the answer is: never. Literally never.

It’s worse than this. Having been in the room with many of them (long ago, before I knew they were psychopaths), the tycoons who are left running the industry have an active contempt for ordinary people, including their own workers. They actively want to oppress, control and punish them.

I finally found out yesterday that Leo Christopherson, one of the original and most influential TRS-80 programmers and also the most influential person in my life, died in 2016. It was unlikely that he was still alive but confirming his death has hit me kind of hard. RIP my favorite nerd.

As someone currently running for office, we need publicly financed elections and the complete overturn of Citizens United. Our political process should not be indistinguishable from a scam operation.
