The word 'drought' is perfectly onomatopoeic to me. No better word to describe its meaning. It's so mean sounding. Say it. Drought! A clever combination of the words 'dry' and 'out'? And sounds a bit like 'Drat!' too. "Drought! And double drought!", as Dick Dastardly might say.

I reckon Del could take Basil easily even with the size difference. They both have violent streaks though. Terry the cook was quite handy and would knock out Rodders in one punch. I live a few doors down from an elderly neighbour who seems to have a perma-scowl on her face. Last Friday, for the first time in thirty years she ACTUALLY SMILED at me. It was a weak smile, but a smile nonetheless. I immediately looked over my shoulder. Still discombobulated.
