In the great before times, I didn't have the hand-eye coordination to draw using a drawing pad, so I would draw traditionally, then color digitally. This is how far I got using a piece I did in my current sketchbook for today's session.

I've been trying to restore my quick access macros in FFXIV and feel like I've just wasted an hour of my time. Going to play Warframe for a while and murder some Greneer to make me feel better.

I don't get it. If "someone" follows over 5,000 accounts what is to say that "someone" isn't an AI bot? Combined with nothing personal, commentative, or just tongue and cheek and it being all business? Yeah, I would rather block than have my creativity slurped up by a clanker.

A little something for #throwbackthrusday - also known as an old drawing I did for a competition. What do you guys think? Is this 2018 drawing worth a redraw? Also, marked her for nudity since nothing is showing, but it's clear there are no clothes on.

PSA: IF YOU MAKE AI ART, DON'T FOLLOW ME. Generative AI for writing and art, not only are you damaging our society and our overall attention levels, you are also participating in something VERY harmful to the environment!

Been trying to find my recent insomnia trigger and it's stress. Work stress is still attacking me even on my vacation, and yesterday a lot of neighbors shot off fireworks, causing me to overstimulate and - you guessed it - stress. Focusing today on letting go of as much of the build up as possible.

"Blue Curl" 3 hour-experiment. A piece inspired by the process I took while experimenting with "Violet Feathers." I played with both a darker skinned model idea as well as different lighting types and background color. I will be studying different hair types and textures in the future!

I just had my longest uncreative streak(3 days of not doing ANYTHING to enrich my artistic soul [research, sketching, reading art news, drawing, ANYTHING]). I see now why some artists quit their day jobs without a plan. I feel so much better getting back into my artwork this morning!

The hardest part about practicing and enjoying art is the inevitable 8-5 work burn out that bleeds into creativity. It's simultaniously end of month, end of quarter, and rush to complete tasks before vacation shutdown. My full time job is in sales. I'm tired, grandpa.

I am in the Beginner category of Freelancer (see earlier reblog, and yes, @tsurudraws.art, this is VERY helpful!). I buckled down to improve and try the professional route 6 months ago after years of waffling, and to realize I'm not at the very beginning already is big confidence boost!

Taking a full week completely off ALL socials, the art ones included. I am loosing my joy for art, and it's made all the worse with all the trauma-porn littering the algorithms. I need a break. ; ; Be back soon~♥

Comparison really is the thief of joy. I keep thinking about how I can get my art out there, thinking that will open doors to try new things. But I need to try those new things myself. I need to remember that for me, art is joy, and people liking it is a bonus.

I suppose now is as good a time as any to share some old art of my #FFXIV #OC, Serina. While in character she is a lesbian, the flag reflects my personal sexuality. I know I'm not queer enough for most LGBTQIA+ circles, but I still honor and respect their struggle, and do what I can. Happy #Pride!

You need to enjoy what you have for you and nobody else. Don't worry about leaving a legacy. Do the things you love like no one is watching. The people that come after won't care about the aviaries, won't care about the flowers, won't care about the art you painted on the walls. Do things for you.

PSA to my fellow digital artists: don't forget to play. Do plein air in a coffee shop. Try out a page filling doodle exercise. Or, in my case, experiment with some 10+ year old oils that your SO's mom found at a garage sale way back when. Sable approves. My point is don't forget to try new things.
