A [proper] World Cup is about two things; for bigger nations it is about winning a trophy and for smaller ones it is about part time players earning the chance to be on the same pitch as the stars of their sport. One side matches are a celebration of the sport and a very good thing.

I did not have a riveting day, unpiled and looked through so many boxes to try and find my chain tool so I could work on my bike and it was nowhere to be seen. Went into the bedroom just now and it was sitting on a shelf starring at me.

I am cursed in so many way. I have been trying to find someone to change my chain and no one is getting back to me. Decided I will have to do it myself, found somewhere selling the right chain and sprockets in a kit for less than separately, and...

Last week I made Leicester the location for my ride, and I saw a greylag goose which also through it was too hot.

It is a good idea to not leave checking the bike until the night before I want to ride it. Especially when I already suspected the chain was already at the adjuster limit. But that was the idea I decided to go with. And I cannot even have a lie-in instead now because of the heat.
