I agree 100% with Steven Vickers that authors will be falsely accused of using AI in the coming years. In particular, authors like myself whose works were stolen to train AI systems are at risk. When we write in our own unique styles, AI trained on us will quite likely flag us as using AI.

Author Steven Vickers wrote on Threads, "To confirm, this '100% AI generated' passage is the opening of Chapter 5 from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. I think authors are going to get screwed in these AI witch hunts."

it's being reported that Crunchyroll had a data breach • The breach happened on March 12th, 2026 & the threat actor was able to pull 100gb of personal identifiable data (IP addresses, email addresses, credit card details, and more.) As of reporting, CR hasn't publicly disclosed the breach

I remember when I learned Clair Obscur did that, I felt like a sucker for getting into it. It fucking sucks. It really felt discordant to see so many just dismiss it when genAI use was revealed. That whole experience was just, ugh. Fuck genAI, its such a big sign of a lack of love for creativity.

fuck crimson desert for its ai use but also people were so much more forgiving of clair obscur doing the same thing last year which continues to make it all too obvious that there's a bunch of people that aren't actually anti-ai since they'll fold if its for something they like
