"Kids Run Through the City" from Final Fantasy VI is maybe just a hair more bright, but there is a similar melodic and chord progression throughout these town themes of his I posted. Soken's "A Better Tomorrow" from higher in this thread does exactly what these three Uematsu songs do.

Even before the higher fidelity synthesizers, Uematsu was making music with this kind of composition framework. He's done it repeatedly even on "worse" musical equipment, which is why I was so confident the first track was his, until I checked and it wasn't.

I think Soken has confidently carved out his own path as a musician, and yet found Uematsu's wavelength and matched older Final Fantasy synergy at times. Considering it's highly likely we'll never get another full Uematsu soundtrack to FF or any other game now, Soken is absolutely THE guy now.
For comparison, here's an Uematsu track from Fantasian, "Frontier Town En". These two tracks back to back sound SO SIMILAR, and I really would have believed both were Uematsu before, and they aren't.

This track, for example, "A Better Tomorrow". It sounds SO MUCH like one of Uematsu's tracks from Fantasian (amongst other tracks from across the Mistwalker games) that I wondered for a moment if this was a holdover Uematsu track from 1.0 that I couldn't place. But no, it's Soken.

Masayoshi Soken as a composer continues to surprise me. He of course has his own musical stylings, but has rearranged Nobuo Uematsu's music many times to great success. But I also hear tracks in XIV that I would swear match Uematsu's composition stylings, only to check and see it's Soken after all.
Literally no one is doing this. Please get a job.

Finally, she's about as close to my old high school friend's 20-some-odd-year-old art of "MarzGurl" as I think I can ever get her to be. Ideally, she would have antennae and not horns, but for now, she is where I want her.
Thanks to recent bullshit from shit like Anime Matsuri, New Mexico Comic Expo, & every usual chud on Twitter, folks are now relitigating this shit on Reddit, FB, & in the comments of my video, repeating talking points from 7 years ago that we have documentation of being wholly fucking incorrect.
it is 2006. I am warning my friends that Vic Mignogna is unsafe and not to be trusted. it is 2026. I am warning the internet that Vic Mignogna is still unsafe and still not to be trusted. WHEN WILL THIS END?!

Dude, I'd been so nervous about updating my C drive's firmware & the possibility of losing a bunch of stuff just so I could perform normal updates that I put it off for as long as I could, & then I finally backed everything up & updated the firmware & it took less than 5 seconds & lost nothing.
I love Lost Odyssey, man. The English track was recorded before the Japanese, so in English there is no awkward lip flap matching. Very natural-sounding. In particular, Michael McGaharn ad-libbed a bunch of lines as Jansen, and so many of these absolutely slay me even now.

Vic WAS nice to me. Many times. He also did some borderline-creepy things to me, AFTER he knew I was friends with one of his young female friends/fans. He also sexually assaulted one of my close friends. Almost like people (narcissists!) can hide their true colors when it’s advantageous to do so.
The number of times I've seen the "BUT HE WAS NICE TO *MEEEEEE*" defense for Vic is maddening. Bro, that's not a defense.
Finally got around to writing a few words about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, after having watched last Friday. Not a lot here, spoiler-free. Not my favorite, but very, very good and easy to like anyway! Just wanted more Peter and Ned time, really. More brief words on Letterboxd.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ review by Kaylyn Saucedo • Letterboxd
Very good Spider-Man movie! May not have been my favorite of the bunch, but there's a lot to like about it. It's easy to be interested in seeing how Peter manages with a world that has completely forgotten that he exists, his heart broken by knowing his loved ones don't know him. Seeing him learn how to manage his newly-developing biological webbing is also fascinating. Getting hints of how this is going to affect the broader scope of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with hints towards characters and organizations that are surely coming later, still remains kind of exciting. I think

Now that I'm back home, my next big thing I'm looking to get done is some vehicle repairs. For one thing, the A/C went out in my car, and it's still summer. Bummer! I'm still selling stickers at my Ko-Fi! Would love to send some your way.

The convention has now deleted the post they originally made when they cancelled him. They have set up a Facebook event page for the store signing, and while I do see angry comments, I'm also hearing the store has blocked people.
One of the funniest things about social media: It has created this weird mindset where people feel entitled to access. The number of people going "How dare (Celebrity) block me just because I called them an asshole and said they should be executed?" Without an ounce of introspection is hilarious.
