Homemade wedding anniversary pizza. Getting better at baking. Ground beef and jalapenos down in there under all that cheese. We eloped, so a Chicago deep dish pizza was our "wedding cake."
Hasselhoff was a solid physical match for Nick Fury at the time.
But plenty of those bad adaptations had actors who looked like the characters. Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy is great casting. The 90s Fantastic Four movie can be criticized for a lot of things, but not trying to resemble the comics isn’t one of them.
Still don't have the flippin' wooden bookshelf recipe in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Swear I'm gonna get the Robot Hero built first. #acnh

since California ballots are now out: prop 40 is the billionaire tax, and you should vote yes to stick it to them but both props 41 and 42 are designed to retroactively cancel the billionaire tax because they’re afraid they can’t beat it at the ballot box yes on 40, no on 41 and 42

Would you really give up ChatGPT to shut down data centers? Tech CEO highlights the hypocrisy of some AI critics
"All the people that are saying they're anti-data center, that they're anti-AI in general, they're using it," said Verb boss Cyrus Beschloss at CNBC's Trading the Midterms...

Bluesky marketed itself as an AI-free platform only to give into it once artists had settled in and re-built their following.. I hope everyone realizes how frustrating this is, instead of suggesting that artists should just delete their accounts and jump platforms again
Aside from basic humanity, another reason I support broad and relaxed immigration is that my poor ass would like enough of a tax base to make sure my Social Security is paid when I can't work anymore.
If a viral news post doesn't have: - Proper names of any of the people involved - Date it happened - Links to original reporting, especially local TV news for the US then it's not real.

I think part of why we're rejecting "AI" en masse is because when the Internet went commercial, it was a unifying event that invited participation and interaction. "AI" is an isolating technology that's meant to reduce human participation as much as possible. How is that fun?
Can it pass right now? Nah. But damn if just introducing it won't make members of both parties pee their pants.
Rep. Delia C. Ramirez has introduced a bill that would abolish not just ICE, but the DHS altogether, repealing the 2002 law establishing the agency and replacing it with one focused on protecting civil and human rights.
This. Makes. No. Fucking. Sense. They're Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies! We have hundreds of pictures of them! Thousands, even! Product presentation quality pictures! The damn things haven't changed in decades! WHY ARE YOU MAKING THESE GODDAMN ABOMINATIONS
The annoying: Sam’s Club is apparently using AI to create official product pics. The horror: AI made Little Debbie Oatmeal Crème Pies into tacos. 😱 (Hat tip to Reddit. Verified in Sam’s app. This is image 9 of product.)
And the fucknuts still don't have a profitable business model.
I keep trying to think of any historical example where a given technology's PROMOTERS AND TRUE BELIEVERS were like 'we are absolutely going to ruin your fucking life so be prepared like it's the end of the world'
#Quest64 is one of those games I wander back to every few years. I have fun playing as it is, but it's also one of those games that just begs for expansion. Like its unfinished state is more like a great start, y'know?
D&D in Japan: The big mid-90s push. The bunkobon format of the three-volume Rules Cyclopedia, localized in both text and artwork style. It sought to reclaim some of the ground lost to Lodoss and Sword World - complete with D&D in the arcades with Capcom to promote the Mystara setting.
Goddamn but "AI" boosters are some credulous dipshits. You're the ones making the outlandish claims. That puts the burden of evidence on *you.* We don't have to debunk your fantasies. That should be your therapist's job.
I cannot say definitively that we'll never develop artificial intelligence. I strongly doubt it, based on the limits of technology and our understanding of consciousness. But I can say absolutely that an LLM will never be conscious or feel pain. It's a glorified Magic Eight Ball. That's all.
