I’m so proud of Sam Darnold for learning how to play under pressure the way that he has. It comes natural to some guys but he’s had to work at it, even this year. He went from throwing four picks against the Rams to having a clean playoff run. I find that really inspiring!
The competition has billions of dollars, billions of users and deep political connections. Quit the crabs-in-a-barrel mentality if you care about all of our collective work meaning something in this lifetime.
Skylight has been kicking my ass for the past five days. Basically all of the problems can be traced back to the changes I had to make when we shut down servers in November. That left some deep scars in this codebase.

@jimray.bsky.team @hailey.at FYI you can make the oauth-client-expo package Expo Go compatible. The big blocker was DPoP but Expo 54 added Worklets which would allow you to do the DPoP calculations in JS without blocking the UI thread. That + switching mmkv to secure store should do the trick!
I regret saying this, I don’t actually think that every app having a PDS is the solution. IMO some form of sub-accounts and account merging is more promising. I think having a PDS provider that you trust more than your apps is the way. I just also think people will want more than one account.
Reed Harmeyer@reedharmeyer.bsky.social · 6mo agoYep, I think a lot of this would’ve been helped if we had a PDS. It would help us say “you are posting on the open internet” instead of “you are posting on Bluesky”
I’d say we tried the TikTok clone thing and it was just a bad way to go. Skylight v3 has overlap with TikTok but Skylight v1 was eclipsed by it. Ironically we are a more viable TikTok replacement today because we are more of a Bluesky client :)
