Newest zinc plate etching! Not sure how I arrived at this idea, but something something fleeting nature of the universe etc. The quote is from Horace, meaning 'we are but dust and shadow'.

An arched print made from a zinc plate etching of two figures embracing - one is just an outline of light, as if dissolving into space. The background is reminiscent of a galaxy or space dust. The plate has a gothic window border.

Merman & Fisherman etching part II! This print continues the story of the merman from my print from half a year ago, again made using zinc plate etching and aquatint 🌊

A grey-blue toned print on a white cloth background. The print shows an illustration of a merman and sailor on a ship’s deck. The sailor holds the merman in his net, the merman lays at the sailor’s feet.

Finally finished my moth man etching! When I started this one the design was mostly based on vibes, but the more I think about it, a trans (moth) person being pinned & displayed for the world to gawk at feels kind of relevant 🦋

tried my hand at reduction printing! a block of lino is gradually carved away, the layers printed over each other, to create an image. the block is destroyed in the process of carving

tried out tetrapak intaglio printing! milk cartons can be used for intaglio printing instead of metal plates - after inking, the shiny metallic parts end up printing in grey, and parts where the metal layer has been scratched away absorb ink and print a dark black.

Here is the other stone lithograph print that I made last weekend! This one was painted in ink and then printed by hand with a bone folder, which surprisingly worked a lot better than I expected.

A piece of paper with a print printed from a stone using the stone lithography method. It is in dark purple ink, of a painted figure, which is fairly minimalistic with bold brushmarksA flat rectangular stone with an ink painted figure on it, fairly minimalistic with bold brushmarks

wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

Continuing in the tradition of JC Leyendecker and his gorgeous be-socked men, I spent my last few printmaking studio seasions making sock garter mezzotint prints!

A black and white, blue tinted print of two feet in sock garters. Two hands are visible adjusting the garters.

shout out to some of my favorite works from my ornament series, all of which are partly why my arm is so fucked up 😎 THE RUFF - KNIGHT OF THE MORNING STAR - KNIGHT OF THE TAPESTRY - SHIVERING (ST. SEBASTIAN)

THE RUFF - b&w pen and ink drawing of a beautiful 1570-90s dude (i can't remember sry), the subject is looking away from the viewer and we can see his magnificent lace-trimmed ruff, the askew cloak, and a hat with three trailing pheasant feathersKNIGHT OF THE MORNING STAR - a close-up of a knight from behind. he is in resplendent armor from roughly the mid-16th century with a lovely sun and lots of italian filigree. He is looking over his right shoulder, his sword aloft, the moon looming large behind him.KNIGHT OF THE TAPESTRY - a knight in late gothic armor from the waist down. he stands upon a tiled floor, his sabotons are crazy pointed and he's got the spurs. a heavily patterned cloak trails on the floor behind him.SHIVERING - ST. SEBASTIAN - st sebastian tied up to a tree, innit. really tumultuous clouds with a lot of heavy shading roll in the background over a dark, dense line of mountains.

‘from the boundless deep’, an etching & aquatint - edition of 5 prints! one of my more ambitious prints this year, and I’m really happy with it :3

a large print of a merman in a net being pulled out by sailors’ hands. the scene is surrounded by a border in which deepwater fish swim - an anglerfish, oarfish, squid and other freaky fish. the print is in shades of blue. it has been printed from a metal plate etched in acid.

have been desperately looking for this old erotic Spanish comic I stumbled on almost 10 years ago called "El secreto de Frankenstein" and I'm so happy to report I finally found it
