Worked quick to get the head mostly done by EOY for a trial run @ #PDFC. Indecisive on eye design, popped in some basic pupils. My Creators Constructive Criticism for my next one: Use a pattern, at least for the neckwrap. That way it won't attach so weirdly. #fursuit & #fursuitfriday 🦅

Second stage of production: Sewed up a neckwrap/mantle and the front & sides of the head are done by December. *After* getting this far I decided to get a sewing machine, better late than never I suppose #Fursuit & #FursuitFriday technically. 🦅🐦

Neckwrap for blue jay fursuit head laying on its side. Base wrap is white with black trim along the bottom edge with blue and black curved chevrons pointing to the front.Portrait-style photo of WIP blue-jay fursuit head. Some basic eyes are in and the jaw fur is untrimmed.Side portrait photo of head highlighting reflection on the beak. Jaw & back of head are still unfinished there's now an interior lining.

Wanted to make a good friend a gift but wasn't sure what. Remembered LSFC & figured I'd make a partial for them. I know they like blue-jays but have never seen any art from them, so I just free-handed based on the real bird. Kept it a surprise but they suggested taking progress pics starting Nov '25

First progress photo. Subject: The front of an in-progress avian fursuit head. Markings/patterning inspired by C. cristata: Blue Jays. Most of the fur is trimmed down, with scalloping on the top to evoke feathers.

Photo shows spring mechanisms for the articulated jaw on both sides of the back of maw. Fur on top of the head is folded over the now leather-clad beak, was in the process of attaching a misprinted gnathotheca to the top of the head to emulate the feather crest on real blue jays.
