🌱 'Mother of Thyme' is probably one of the best plants that I have planted in my long border, but also the scariest. It makes a beautiful ground cover. There are so many different types of bees and wasps pollinating the flowers that I am afraid to weed the border. #garden #Zone8b

🐔 Switched the broody bunch to sitting on sand - hope that resolves the problem. At least they're out and about now. I had no idea how broody #bantam #Cochin #hens could be when I got them a few years ago. It's a battle every summer. My first flock was standard sized & rarely went broody. #chickens

Lol. I'm feeling this today. I have an appointment and am worried if I start working on a project I'll lose track of time and be late for or miss my appointment.

HOW do I get out of waiting mode

I'll be curious to see how this plays out IRL. Lately I have been researching privacy concerns regarding Flock surveillance cameras & home surveillance systems such as Ring. I'm also disgusted at how much my Google phone is tracking, even though I keep my mic and camera off unless I'm using them.

SO there are some giant redcedars in the Land Board Park waaay out in the sticks. This grove is a small group of trees so large that the Idaho Land Board (the group in charge of dictating forestry policy in Idaho) decided to spare them from harvest and to name them after themselves 🙄. 1/7

On 20th November 1986, the rose was declared the national flower of the United States. So today, a bouquet of roses from an English garden, sent with warmest wishes to all our friends across the pond for a very happy 4th of July. Have a wonderful Independence Day!

I visited the Billy Frank Jr. National Wildlife Refuge for the first time today. This is the view of #MountTahoma / #MountRainier from the end of the mile-long Nisqually estuary boardwalk. There are so many beautiful places to see in Washington State, it may be impossible to visit all of them.

These particular robots are in the UK, but some American cities do have them. I can only imagine the disasters of robots vs. Lime bike that could happen if these became popular in downtown Seattle.

Humans should not be forced off pavements by delivery robots, but that's exactly what's happening. The people who pay the price are those with the least room to give it up.

🌱 In 2020 a friend recommended that I start to #garden again. My mom had passed, I was deep in grief, we were worried about finances due to the pandemic. I bought a tiny penstemon for $12, which seemed expensive. I have since divided that plant many times. It was money well spent. #bloomscrolling

Today is a day for good news. Fun Fact: Kim Wyman, a Republican, served as Washington's Secretary of State from 2013 to 2021. During her tenure, she did a significant amount of work to ensure that voting by mail is secure.

Great news for Washingtonians and the millions of Americans who vote by mail. Today's Supreme Court decision upheld laws allowing ballots to be counted after Election Day, reinforcing access to voting and confidence in the electoral process.

Thankful that Washington State didn't waste taxpayer dollars to have a booth at the State Fair in Washington DC. I can't wrap my brain around how the "fiscally conservative" party finds so many ways to waste taxpayer money.

A single red rose bloom. The rose has a unique bright red color and almost appears to have a florescent undertone. While this rose is supposed to be relatively disease resistant, there is a small bit of powdery mildew on the leaves which is likely a result of our inconsistent weather that has been rapidly transitioning from rainy low 50s F to hot high 80s/low 90s F.
