Because Juneteenth is about understanding what freedom means, who it has been denied to, and what it will take to from all of us to make it real.
This is an incredible victory for the local communities, researchers, litigators, and longstanding anti-detention organizers in these states that have been working tirelessly to stop these sites from going online. But warehouse expansion continues in AZ, TX, and elsewhere. The fight is far from over
